August 17, 2021 — Two men died and 3 others were injured when a natural gas pipeline exploded about 35 miles northeast of Dallas, Texas, according to WFAA-TV.
The incident occurred about 4 p.m. on July 26, in an unincorporated part of Collin County, near Farmersville.
According to the Farmersville police chief, the victims were contractors working for Atmos Energy who were servicing a natural gas pipeline.
The two men who died were identified as Ethan Knight, 22, of Mesquite, and Deric Tarver, 35, of El Campo. They were employees of Bobcat Contracting and Fesco Petroleum Engineering.
Of the 3 other men who were injured, two were hospitalized with serious burn injuries.
Atmos Energy published a statement saying that an investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
