March 8, 2017 — Nearly 50,000 Craftsman portable table saws that were sold exclusively at Sears since 2014 were recalled because the stand can collapse unexpectedly and cause injuries.
The 10-inch table saws have a foldable black metal stand. There have been 11 reports of the stand collapsing. Nine people reported injuries to their hands or fingers, broken bones, lacerations, a shoulder strain, and a partial fingertip amputation.
The recall involves 46,000 table saws that were sold for $200 at Sears stores and online from April 2014 until October 2016.
On the front of the saw is a silver label with the words “15 AMP 10-IN TABLE SAW” and Model No. 137.415030. The product was made in China and distributed in the U.S. by Sears Brands Mgt. Corp.
The recalled table saws have serial numbers starting with the following letters:
RSN | RSP | RSQ | RSR | RSS | RST | RSU | RSV | RSW | RSX |
RSY | RSZ | RTN | RTP | RTQ | RTR | RTS | RTT | RTU | RTV |
RTW | RTX | RTY | RTZ | RUN | RUP | RUQ | RUR | RUS | RUT |
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled table saws and contact the manufacturer for a free replacement stand. For more information, contact Rexon Industrial Corp. toll-free at 866-934-6360 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
